Viewers may be wondering 'What is the point of TLVPS?', 'what do they do?' So, here is a gallery of our achievements after not quite our first year in operation working for the improvement of Lepton Village:

Here is us installing the first LCO tree, the jubilee tree.  

 

 

 

 

 

1. Procured and installed three planters in the centre and maintained them with summer and winter flowers:

2. Cleared the Village Centre of weeds and litter :

3. Created and planted up borders with summer and then winter flowers:

4. Badgered Kirklees Council (with the help of Cllr Bernard McGuin) until they agreed to repair and refurbish the Village Centre flats (Due February 2022............Now completed!

5. Arranged Village improvement grants of £4000 which will be used to procure more seating for the new 'Lepton Fireworks Memorial Park' and Village name stones now placed at three locations o the approaches to Lepton Village. One sponsor and step one (filling) is complete.

6. In co-operation with the Rowley Lane Junior, Infant and Nursery School we planted various Spring bulbs throughout the Village Centre and the Lepton Fireworks Memorial Park. 

7. At the request of the Methodist Church wardens we planted two Lilac trees in the Church Memorial Garden:

8. We joined Lepton CofE school as they did a litter pick around the Village. Thank you for the invite Deputy Headmistress Rachel Brook and thank you to the children for their hard work clearing up litter.

9. Obtaining a grant to purchase a Willow Deer sculpture for the Recreation Ground

 

Not this one which is located at Cawthorne near Barnsley in the Cannon Hall Park.

The one for Lepton Recreation Ground will be similar.
